Last month, we asked you to share your favorite story you’ve ever written — we hoped it would give you an opportunity to showcase some of your best work (and give all of us some great things to read). What ensued was a flurry of high-quality, downright awesome Medium posts. Some shared deeply personal essays about coping with the loss of a dog, while others shared stories that should probably only be read in incognito mode. But what we found most interesting is the throughline: Each writer delivered their own authentic voice and style.

I have two faves and both just tumbled out of me, unbidden and unbridled. A rare and delicious experience.
The first is an ode to Tom Waits and it makes me so happy, but it may be because I love Tom. The second is about my kids and is very close to my heart. —
